Automatic Backups

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

The automatic backup feature creates a daily backup of your journal (on the days you use the software).  Each time you exit Journal2Day, if there have been changes it creates a backup for that day. If you use Journal2Day several times in a single day it will create a new daily backup for each change, overwriting any previous backups for that day.

Enabling Automatic Backups

Automatic backups are enabled by default and will keep a weeks worth of daily backups. You can how long backups will be kept or disable automatic backups (not recommended) from the journal settings.

Backup File Location

The backup files are saved to your application data folder.

C:\Users\<your name>\Documents\Journal2Day\Backup\

This folder is normally hidden, to view the folder click the Windows Start button or open the windows search, type %AppData% and select Roaming. Once the application data folder opens you can navigate to the backup folder.
